How to make Ven Pongal

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup moong dal (split yellow lentils)

4. Add the required salt and mix well again.
5. Heat ghee in a small frying pan, add cumin seeds, crushed black pepper, fry for a few seconds till they splutter.
6. Add this tempering to the prepared pongal along with ginger chopped finely, green chillies and curry leaves. Mix well again so that everything is incorporated well.
7. Ven Pongal is now ready to be served hot with some chutney or sambar on the side.
