How to make Sheera ?

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semolina (suji)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ghee or clarified butter
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder (elaichi powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder (jaiphal powder)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped almonds (badam)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pistachios (pista)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cashews (kaju)

Instructions:

In a pan, roast the semolina on low heat until it turns golden brown. Keep stirring continuously to avoid burning. In another pan, melt sugar in 1/4 cup of water to make a syrup. Add the roasted semolina to the sugar syrup and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring continuously. Add ghee or clarified butter and stir well. Add cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, chopped almonds, pistachios and cashews. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Serve hot or cold as desired.

7) Remove from flame and serve hot or cold as desired.
